Thirdman is an independent production and facilities partnership that was established in Cornwall in 1994. In 1995 the company expanded and moved to head offices in Plymouth.

Since that time Thirdman has produced a wide range of documentary, current affairs and factual programmes for broadcasters in the UK, including Cadle’s Quest, Health Matters, Gardeners Tales, The Bridge and The Great Garden Guide. In addition to direct commissions, Thirdman has facilitated and produced independent programmes for ITV, the BBC, Channel 4, and a number of satellite broadcasters including Discovery. Recently we have completed a series of commercials for Roddas Clotted Cream, a corporate video for Tescos, and a series of programmes for the History Channel. Shortly we will be post producing a series of programmes for Discovery.

Over the past 16 years Thirdman has produced a wide range of corporate communications products for some of the biggest companies and organisations in the UK including: the Ford Motor Company; Saga Publishing; DML; Babcock; ECC; Tesco; English Heritage; The National Trust; Dartmoor National Park; and Wavetek Wandel & Golteman, Roddas, Seafood Cornwall, Morris Engineering, Walport and the RNLI. Currently we are editing a series of corporate programmes following a multi-million pound development in Qatar.

We offer a full service from script to screen. All our production staff and crews have experience of network broadcast production and strong track records in corporate production.

The company has the latest broadcast quality digital acquisition and post-production technology. We have our own edit suites and sound dubbing facilities and we also offer a bulk DVD duplication facility, enabling small or large runs to be produced very cost effectively in house. If you would like to see examples of our broadcast and corporate work or to visit our production facilities in Plympton please contact the Development Director at the address on the front page of this tender document.

Thirdman has a strong track record in similar work, having shot and edited a number of short films profiling the lives of disabled children. The Producer would be Karen Stockdale, who was previously responsible for Features programmes within the ITV region and her output included all adult education and childrens’ programming. The company is based in Plympton and can react quickly to your requirements.
