Back in April, Bluestone360 launched a competition through their new Academy to find original talent for the South West. The Academy offered the winner an opportunity to gain valuable work experience from within Bluestone360’s offices in Royal William Yard, Plymouth and the chance to design a brand new website for children’s charity CHICKS.

Angie Chan was the talented individual who impressed the judges with her excellent animation skills and understanding of the charities needs. Alexis Bowater, Academy Panellist said, ‘It was really enlightening and wonderful to see such a range of talent and enthusiasm. The enthusiasm, professionalism, determination, dynamism and maturity shown by the candidates really stood out. Angie was well-prepared, enthusiastic, efficient, professional, full of bright ideas, well-presented, hugely talented and a great communicator.’

Elanor Hoskin, CHICKS Head of Fundraising added, ‘Angie has designed a fun, fresh and interactive site for the charity that will help to raise much needed funds. We provide free respite breaks for disadvantaged children from across the UK and with the world constantly evolving our website is our public face and it is crucial that it sets the right image and tells our supporters all they need to know. We are incredibly grateful to both Bluestone360 and Angie for all their hard work and dedication.’

Mervyn Orchard, from Bluestone360 added, “We are delighted that CHICKS are happy with their new website. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Angie on such a worthy project and no doubt a fantastic experience for her. We are now seeking further opportunities to develop the Bluestone360 Academy and, at present, are in discussion with the University of Plymouth about working with more graduates. With this in mind, we very much look forward to seeing a prosperous future of the Bluestone360 academy.”
