TWOFOUR IS FIRST INDEPENDENT TV COMPANY TO TAKE PART IN THE NEW CREATIVE & DIGITAL MEDIA APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME
Leading independent media company, Twofour, is inviting applications for a place on a brand new Creative and Digital Apprenticeship scheme in the South West. The 18 month apprenticeships, which have been developed with Skillset (Sector Skills Council for Creative Media) are designed to equip a new generation of young people with the skills that the UK’s creative industries need for future growth. Twofour is the first independent TV company in the South West to sign up to the new scheme and is working with Plymouth College of Art to identify the most talented young people in the field from schools in and around the city.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for school leavers in the South West to start a career in TV and Digital Media,” said Group Managing Director Mark Hawkins. “It is a notoriously difficult industry to get into and we are determined to provide young people in the South West with the skills they need for a career which will draw on both their creative and technological talents.”
Twofour will be inviting a select number of applicants to its studios where applicants will have to prove they are ready for the challenge. Twofour is offering up to five apprenticeship places which will start in July.
The apprenticeship is made up of three elements – functional skills, a practical competence element and a taught knowledge based element.
To apply for a place contact Hannah Revell at Plymouth College of Art on 01752 205714 or business@plymouthart.ac.uk by Monday 28 June 2010.
