MEETDRAW EVENT A HUGE SUCCESS
The latest Meetdraw event was a huge success, with over a 180 people turning up to discuss all things digital, play innovative games and pick the brains of like-minded people.
Titled ‘The Student Takeover’ it was organised by students from Bournemouth University and Arts University College Bournemouth, on behalf of the Meetdraw team, and held in the Christopher Creek Pub in Bournemouth. There were more students at the event than ever before, demonstrating an increased level of interest in the digital world, in up-and-coming digital minds.
Guests were able to play interactive, innovative games designed and made by the students, which used mobile phones as the controllers.
David Burton, one of the founders of Meetdraw, said: “It was a great night and we were really pleased with the turnout. The Students did a really good job of organising it, and the games that they created rocked. It is not long now until our Christmas extravaganza, and we are already looking forward to it.”
Meetdraw is a series of events where anyone who is interested in, or working in, the digital world can come along to socialise with people who are already working in the field or are studying it.
The Christmas Meetdraw event will also mark two years since the group was formed by David Burton, Head of Innovation at Redweb; Dan Hills, Business Director at Folk; and Paul Seys, Head of User Experience at Redweb. It also forms part of Dorset Design Forum, and meetings are held in Bournemouth.
