Delegates at the inaugural Creative Network event held at Foot Anstey on 30th September were urged to innovate and collaborate by keynote speaker, Andy Curtis from Global Innovation Partners.

The event, organised by Creative Network partners, ArtsMatrix, Designed in Devon, the Formation Zone and Plymouth Media-Partnership, gave a unique insight into how the creative sector is being transformed through digital innovation, both within the UK and internationally.

Using case studies from his work within Creative Sheffield, Andy showed that by establishing the right environment for creative businesses then innovation can flourish and economic growth can be catalysed. Addressing more than 50 delegates, Andy urged creative companies in the South West to innovate, collaborate and to develop national and international partnerships.

Karen Stockdale, Manager of Plymouth Media-Partnership said: “Creative companies in the South West need to rise to the economic challenges we’re facing and think global. Andy was able to give us fascinating glimpse of what can be achieved if companies within the private sector work together.”

The event was the inaugural event for the Creative Network, which brings together members of ArtsMatrix, Designed in Devon, the Formation Zone and Plymouth Media-Partnership
